First, to take care of last two years. When we last spoke, we were at DuClaws. After day drinking there, we trick or treated and had the remaining pumpkin beers, since everyone knows it is bad luck to leave pumpkin flavored beer past Halloween...Then some stuff happened, Ean got bigger, etc. Last year ('14), we stuck with only the best - the Pumpkin' Dogfish Head beer, and didn't go out on a limb testing. Then some more stuff happened, and we are now back!
OK, first up: The evolution Jacques Au Latern. I'd like to say it was chosen because of it being local (Salisbury, MD), the high alcohol content (6.7), or the clever name, but in actuality it was a few bucks cheaper than the other Pumpkin Beers (8 bucks instead of 11) and the liquor store was closing in 10 minutes so I had to move quickly. Overall, good choice:Tara enjoyed out of a bottle and I, a pint glass:
look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.75 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5
It is really smooth, tastes great, and even with the high alcohol content doesn't taste too strong. A great first choice! Tara even finished her beer!
