There's Stuff in My Beer

So, apparently when trying the #11 best beer, one should be ready to deal with pieces of stuff mixed into the normal ingredients.

Tara was not.  So this wonderful two person experience ended up going all to me.  I didn't complain too much though, and dug in for a pumking beer.  There is a whole lot of flavor text regarding the Pumpking and how it is pagan and things like that, but I am too lazy to get up and figure it out.

Overall, I liked the taste, but found it a bit much, even for a Friday night.  It is probably the most pumpkinest beer that I've tasted so far though - must be the additional pieces of stuff that they added.  Very smooth though, and just like the liquor guy said, able for one person to drink by themselves.  Apparently the next one to be enjoyed, Heavy Seas - Great’ER Pumpkin, can't be enjoyed by yourself and needs to be enjoyed with a partner.  We'll find out more about that in the future...

Another pumpkin beer enjoyed this week is the the Mully's Brewery Pumpkin Face.  A local brewery, the beer actually tasted a lot better than expected.  Hopefully they don't get the water, hops, or whatever other ingredients are included in the beer from that area....
Anyways, it tasted "OK" for Tara, and I rather liked it.  Not as sweet and pumpkiny as the last beer.  A lot darker, obviously, and again, not much spice.  Pretty good beer!

Watching "Vacation" and "Jurassic World".  Will see if Tara makes it through Jurassic World.

Spooky Pumpkin Ale

Between our work days, we found some time to sample the pumpkin ales again!  The two beers are...drumroll...Dogfish Pumkin Ale and Cisco Brewery Pumple Drumkin.  Weird name on the second huh?  Dogfish holds a special place in our hearts after winning year 1 as the Pumpkin ale that was better than the rest.  Because of our personalities to stick with what we know first, we went with that to start off the night.

So guess what?  New label!!  Wow, that's fancy.  Looks pretty sweet, but does it taste the same?  Yes, yes it does.  It tastes very good.  We like it......no color, blah blah blahs (and it was good).

So next, after we ran out of the 4 pack Dogfish, we moved into Cisco Brewery's Pumple Drumkin.  Not so good.  It is pretty sweet and doesn't taste as good as the Dogfish.  Luckily, we have a 12 pack that we have to finish (6 pack was 10 bucks and 12 pack was 17), so hopefully it will grow on us (me).

Several Months Later...

https://littlemisskeri.files.wordpress.com/2015/06/several_monthes_later-_.pngFirst, to take care of last two years.  When we last spoke, we were at DuClaws.  After day drinking there, we trick or treated and had the remaining pumpkin beers, since everyone knows it is bad luck to leave pumpkin flavored beer past Halloween...

Then some stuff happened, Ean got bigger, etc.  Last year ('14), we stuck with only the best - the Pumpkin' Dogfish Head beer, and didn't go out on a limb testing.  Then some more stuff happened, and we are now back!

OK, first up: The evolution Jacques Au Latern.  I'd like to say it was chosen because of it being local (Salisbury, MD), the high alcohol content (6.7), or the clever name, but in actuality it was a few bucks cheaper than the other Pumpkin Beers (8 bucks instead of 11) and the liquor store was closing in 10 minutes so I had to move quickly.  Overall, good choice:

Tara enjoyed out of a bottle and I, a pint glass:

look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.75 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

It is really smooth, tastes great, and even with the high alcohol content doesn't taste too strong.  A great first choice!  Tara even finished her beer!
